Just self-published my first novel as an ebook on Amazon… Should be available in the next 48 hours. OH MY WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME
*flails everywhere*
(French, btw. Self-translating hasn't happened yet, probably will at some point, but it's not like I'm not already translating a novel atm.)
*nerves nerves nerves*
XD I'm a mess. Keep calm and watch Doctor Who, they said. Well, I use that baby metaphor—like a couple of other authors probably… Can one watch Doctor Who while they're in freaking labour? =P (Mind you, all I have to do right now is wait. The Eleven syndrome is kicking in though… Patience is for wimps =P)
OMFG OMFG some more…

Congrats Azzie! What is the title of your book and what is it about? are you going to show everybody the link to the book once it is available?

I've been debating about self publishing too. Only problem is that I sent the entire book to the editors/publishers of a company. I've received an e-mail from them telling me they received it, but haven't heard back from them with their thoughts of it yet.

Congrats again, Azzie for your success at being a published author! I wish you more success in the future and hope that more books can come from you!

Thanks a ton, dear! My book is called "La Houleuse", it's a family/romance story with a bunch of characters getting together for the holidays in a small house by the sea—a middle-aged couple trying to rekindle their love and their two nieces, a rather vain and self-centred teenager who has an unrequited love interest there and a slightly older one, who's an anorexic on the mend and has lost her father years back. Love, memories, grief, human relationships etc.
Of course, haha. Just watch me pimp ;) The ebook market isn't the easiest (well, the "normal" market isn't very kind to every author either!) so it's really all about word of mouth and getting as many people talking about your book as possible. So yeah, if you've got a friend looking for what to read during the holidays… You know what to advise! ;)
So yes, I'll post a link as soon as the book is available :)
Ah, I get you—I was in your situation too: I'd sent the book for a contest, and so of course I had to wait till I got results (didn't make it, as I expected given the type of contest, so now there's no problem). But you can still look into the matter while you wait, and keep your fingers crossed about the publishers!
*hugs* ♥♥♥

That book sounds like it is one that I'd be interested in. Of course I'd love to read it, and it is in French too which is even better! A lot of the books I've been reading lately are French translations from English and Spanish writers so it would be great to find something written in the first language!

Unfortunately, I don't think my book sounds very promising and even when I sent it to the publishers I had my doubts about it. So I am waiting for my letter of rejection with grace and impatience ;)

Who was your inspiration when you began writing your book?

Congrats again!

Yay! :) Well, keep an eye out for the next post then :D And if you read it, please leave a comment? That's very important for sales as well, can really make a difference.
Indeed, translations are great but it's also very nice to read the first version ;)
Haha, once more, getting that. I had the exact same reaction with the contest… ;) Well, I didn't think my book was entirely rubbish, which is progress =P But certainly not good enough to make it with all the competition.
Do let me know what happens all the same!
Oh, I wouldn't say I had someone as inspiration… Well, the house by the sea idea kind of did remind me of Bonjour Tristesse. Have you read it? EXCELLENT book. Though my story is a lot different. And I was also reminded of Les Petits Mouchoirs, though I haven't seen that one—definitely should.
Thanks again! ♥

*cheers you on*
I'm translating for a self-published author, so that's really what made me more familiar with Amazon and kind of boosted me, else I would probably never have gotten there…
What are your books about? ^_^

Heh, it might take a while =P At least till I've finished the current translation, soooo… Few months. We'll see!
Yes, I will! :D Thanks!
It's okay, don't worry ♥ I completely understand.
And YES! :D I'm not sure if I've mentioned in my last message the ICONS SPREE I had a few days ago. 70 new ones in an evening? =P Rings any bells?

Ha, true... XD Yeah, I imagine after publishing a novel, the last thing you want is to translate that same novel, heh! Rest up after the labour!

*hugs tight*
I've actually been thinking about it for a while—I wouldn't have done it straight after the editing cause that was long and dire, but it's been a couple of months now—I'd entered it for a contest so I had to wait till I knew for sure I was out. I'd been planning to get to work between the last novel I translated and the one I started recently, actually, but I ended up catching up on late emails and going on a Doctor Who binge instead… =P
I'm panting and clutching my laptop XD OUT OUT OUT!

OMFG sounds appropriate to me.
Congratulations! This is amazing! Let me know when the link is up, I would be more than interested, especially for the long holiday trips. Your summary sounds very interesting, I love big family reunion where everything goes wrong... Wonderful!
I'm so proud of you *grinning like an idiot*, et si en plus tu écris aussi bien en français qu'en anglais...
Champagne?

Thank youuuuuuuu! :D Of course, believe me, everybody will know :D Hehe. Pimping ftw.
*jumps up and down* Well, if you read it, leave me a comment? :D It's really important to boost sales, so… Actually, I just read online that it's even good to make one's friends repeatedly click on the novel on Amazon, even if they don't buy it, because it keeps it amongst the most popular entries or something? Idk, it made me laugh :D *hugs tight* I really hope you'll like it ;)
Haha, I try my best :D You'll have to tell me. THANK YOU AGAIN. I'll have that champagne. Disgracefully :D

Yes, there's a free app to read on computers or tablets—I linked it in my other post :D
