And I eventually finished watching this one! :D

First things first—I must proclaim my absolute love for the Brigadier, the Third Doctor, and most of all Liz Shaw. ♥♥♥ Liz Shaw beats absolutely everything. Liz is clever and witty and snarky and badass and won't take any shit, and she's so epic seriously, I just adore her. She's full of super brains, and the Doctor can tell and wants her around to help. And I love her dynamic with the Brigadier, with the snark and "You're not my boss" vibe, yet you can feel the growing respect and appreciation. At one point they had a clash of wills—on the Brig's side, I wasn't sure whether to find the authority slightly hot or be really really pissed at him for cutting her off like that, but Liz could defend herself, thank you very much, and nicked the TARDIS key from him while she was at it. Me on my Twitter: "That will teach you to be a self-satisfied man in charge and not listen to Liz fucking Shaw, my dear Brig." And the Doctor was like "He will be very cross with you" and Liz was like "Bring it." Liz is the best thing, did I mention?

The Brig is cool, he is the Brig. That is enough said, pretty much. ;) And Three! I loved Three instantly, like all Doctors so far. At first he was talking a little bit like Two, with things like "oh dear" and "my dear fellow", that was so much fun. But it was mostly me still projecting Two onto him as he was very fresh, because One also said such things, the lovely, a tad old-fashioned speak comes with classic Doctors thus far. His reactions to his new face were ten shades of hilarious. We suddenly learned a lot about Time Lord physiology, which hadn't been a thing thus far, canon in progress ftw! And the Doctor's escape in the wheelchair was also the most priceless thing. Plus we saw a random naked Doctor singing in the shower. Life = made.

I recognized the coat that Three and Twelve share when it appeared, so I had a cheer when Three grabbed it :D He almost took a cap too, that would have been a bad idea. Car-driving was apparently a trial for him; car-stealing seemed fine. By the end of the episode he had such an obvious crush on the car, it was absolute cuteness.

There were the Nestene duplicates/Autons, and I squeed a lot because classic references coming back in new!Who! Plastic men just like in "Rose", the hand-guns like Rory's! CLASSICS FTW YES.

Side-characters: Seeley and Meg were such a cute grumpy old couple, they made me grin at my screen.

There were alllll the TARDIS feels. Three started talking of the TARDIS as "she" like it was his old lady friend, I mentioned canon in progress. *chants* There was that heart-wrenching moment when he tried to get her to leave after getting the key from Liz, and realized the Time Lords had trapped him and she wouldn't work. His face, his tired, defeated look was full of all the emotions. Plus Liz was pissed at him for tricking her a little, and he admitted he had been too tempted and couldn't bear the thought of not being able to leave, and apologized to her. I really liked that too.

In the end the Doctor's miracle machine was a big fail, he almost got strangled by random tentacles, and Liz managed to make the machine work and save the day, and I wanted to marry her for the 7th time in the episode. I totally will marry Liz, the Brig, and the Third Doctor; open unions are a thing.

Fun quotes:

Random asshole to Brigadier: "Lucky fellow, Stewart, having a pretty face around the place."
"She [Liz Shaw] is not just a pretty face, sir."
Damn right she's not, dumbass. (Ten seconds later Liz told the guy the TARDIS was a spaceship and his face was priceless.)

Brigadier: "Oh well, at least he [the Doctor] won't get very far."
Liz: "You mean, before your men shoot him again?"

Liz: "You were about to open it [the TARDIS]?"
Brigadier: "Yes."
Liz: "I think you should. There might be a policeman locked inside."

Three: "All right, all right, I suppose you want to see my pass? Yes, well, I haven't got one. And I'm not going to tell you my name, either. Now you just tell Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart that I want to see him. Well, don't just stand there arguing with me, man! Get on with it!"

Three: "Could be useful on the planet Delphon, where they communicate with their eyebrows." And naturally I thought of Twelve again!

Three: "Then go away and let Miss Shaw and I get on with our work, there's a good fellow. Look, do I really have to call you Miss Shaw?" OMFG, seriously, at this point I was squeegasming all over my Twitter and starting to get the "I will marry all three of them" feels.

Three: "But what we really need is a lateral molecular rectifier."
Liz: "What on Earth's that?"
Three: "Not on Earth, unfortunately."

Brigadier: "No, Doctor. That car must be returned to its owner." (No stern-parenting vibes there, nope!)
Doctor [puppy face]: "Must it? Yes, yes, I suppose it must. Still, there's no reason why you couldn't find me something similar, is there? I mean, it could persuade me to stay, you know."
