flowsoffireGoodness! Yeah, after a nearly two-month hiatus I eventually got back to classic!Who. XD And that feels goooood. Brings back all the feels and the craving to watch more, too—I already got started on The Highlanders, which is lovely!
So. Two! :D Got to dig into my old livetweets for the fresh-ish reactions, but tell you what, the first regeneration is a lovely, fascinating thing to see =) Well, I wrote fic about it in the meantime, so. radiolaires the odd, super fast noise, thrillingly alike to a double beat, that can be heard as the Doctor is still all shaken and in pain, and how it gave me ALL THE QUESTIONS! Canon was still being established by then, so two hearts wasn't a thing… Portraying the transition, then? (radiolaires's idea if I remember.) Or else it was just meant to show the chaos in his body and that he had one hell of a headache, lol. But it was certainly striking and thought-provoking. I loved all the little things—Ben and Polly being all puzzled, Polly putting two and two together and Ben being like "no way, that can't be him". THE RING FALLING OFF AND BEN MAKING THE DOCTOR TRY IT ON TO SEE IF IT FITTED. The whole scene of seeing Two adjust to his new identity, seeing his memories in the diary and seemingly feeling such distance even while recognizing them. And god, that damn recorder. XD
The Doctor's reaction to the Daleks, and vice versa, were just great! Daleks pretending to be servants—all the parallels with Victory of the Daleks! Besides, I just about died of wtf hilarity when Polly and the Doctor started repeating "Lesterson listen" a thousand bloody times. XD What. The. Hell. And that recorder became plot-relevant at some point, I love it when they do that. Lesterson was pretty chilling in his maddened distress, then sounding almost downright crazy. I know that's thrown-together random reactions, my watching was fragmented and I'm just putting tweets together ;)
