Classic!Who s4—The Smugglers
Dec. 22nd, 2013 05:16 pmEeee, feels nice to put "s4" in a title ;)
Well… that's the thing that feels nicest. XD The Smugglers wasn't a favourite of mine—I think the poor recon quality didn't help. Also the plot confused me a lot, with all the pirats everywhere backstabbing each other (guess I would have understood better if I'd put in more of an effort, lol), and my fondness for Ben and Polly kind of faded away. XD Polly seemed kind of useless, just squealing at the rats like a baby and being told to run off to the TARDIS and… put the kettle on, for god's sake. Also—"Yeah, well, I'm not playing what's his name? Watson to you." Wow, girl, way to sound cultured. XD Ben wasn't much better—"This friend of yours, the one you call the Doctor, is he a learned man?" / "Oh, not half." LOL, yeah, right.
So yeah, it was nice because it was Who, but nothing much besides. Except for One sweet-talking the pirat, and reading cards, and stating at the end that their next adventure might very well be way worse instead of cozier like Polly hoped—hell of a foreshadowing right there. Oneeeeee. Anyway, there's Tenth Planet next—not a recon! (Well, except for the very last part. Aka regeneration. Fml.) One's last serial! And Cybermen! *excited*

Date: 2013-12-24 01:43 am (UTC)I'm in the middle of cleaning it up, now. Some have links to reviews.
And as I've been reading your reviews of the One era, have a link to some Ian/Barbara cuteness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36LA97klg4A

Eeee, Ian/Barbara! They're my favourites, along with Vicki ♥ Thank you! It's the first One era only vid actually :)
I saw you were watching the Dalek invasion of Earth—how are you enjoying it? :) That's a pretty nice ep as far as I recall, though classic!Dalek voices get on my nerves even more than in New!Who, lol. I almost got it confused with Daleks Master Plan, now this one was LONG… phew.

Re: The epic list of Who-ness. Yeah...I may have bit off more than I can chew with that. LOL.
