Positive ramblings!

Happy late Thanksgiving to all who celebrated! I hope you had a lovely time, whether you were able to spend it with family or not.
Positives for the past few days:
1- Good writing—2,1K both yesterday and the day before, 2,2K today despite a slow start.
2- Decent weather! We got away from almost all of the rain! :D Today it’s actually nice and sunny. I might try and take a few pictures of sunset and nice sky colours in the coming days. Tried yesterday morning when the sky was blue with pinkish/golden clouds, but I’m not sure the colours came through as well as I wanted.
3- This morning my mother and I were both in "brain = mush… wait, what’s a brain?" state upon getting up, she because she can’t sleep much and I because I woke right at the middle of a sleep cycle/weird dream, which is THE thing that makes me go zombie. There was a lot of braindead giggling involved, and typical French sayings elegance—my mother suggesting I start using the more dignified expression "I’ve got my head shoved in a bucket" rather than the more questionable "I’ve got my head shoved up my arse". I insisted on the latter. The meaning just comes right across. XD Though having one’s head in a bucket would just be awful and claustrophobic and absolutely not fun at all, so the first expression is also very valid, but I’d just gotten up and gave no shits about being polite. Or using sayings that are not factually impossible, because… well, enough said. Anyway, it was fun and woke me up a bit, but it wasn’t exactly a NaNo-friendly state of mind XD
(I’m typing this part right at the spur of the moment—had to change todays into yesterdays in the two first points and I’m still in early-mornings, the-fuck-is-my-brain-up-to haze so I might sound hyper or something XD)
4- Thanksgiving posts are so moving and heart-warming ♥ We don’t celebrate it in France, but that is a very good occasion to take a step back and realize one’s own luck. So yes, I am grateful for what I have, for my mother’s love and support and that I get to stand by her side through life’s hardships, and that we know we have each other always. For my beautiful, beautiful online friends who got me through more than they will ever know. I’m grateful to be alive and well and in good health, to have been born in a place and a condition that means I don’t have to face the prejudices, hardships and wrongs that others unfairly do—to have a whole future ahead of me, even if it doesn’t always feel too hopeful. Anything can happen, good things as well as any. I’m grateful I have my writing, and time to work on it as hard as is needed, even though I wouldn’t mind trading that extra time for a real job as often as not, lol!!! And there are likely a few other things, but those are the main ones. And they are important.
5- I bought my mother a lovely orchid to match the one she got me for my last birthday ^_^
6- Walking alone at night, with all the bright lights on, makes me feel queerly powerful—like there is wonder everywhere and tiny life bustling in every city light and I can see that and be a little bit in touch with it. There was a half-moon and a big, dark cloud like a blot of darker ink across the sky. It was very pretty. I’ve never believed in any god, but I believe in the beauty of imperfection out there, everywhere—the beauty in every little detail if you just look in the right way, and the flawed, chaotic beauty of human beings—and nights like this make me remember that. It kind of gives you hope, like things like this meme—it’s like you don’t have to wait your whole life long for happiness, or even for things to completely stop being shitty. It’s already there, in tiny things that keep you smiling, or even breathing.
7- Lots of cropping!!!! There has been ALL THE CLASSIC!WHO CROPPING, with the One and Two eras and all the companions. Yay :D Maybe Iʼll have time for a bit more tonight—see if I can add a few for s6, crop the Three and Liz Shaw caps I grabbed, maybe find one for the Brig. After that there will be the few requests I got, and then going back on my crops to turn them into actually worked-on icons, maybe look up a few new techniques while Iʼm at it, etc etc, all the nice stuff.
8- Good vid:
And from the same maker but on a different, more cheerful mood, this one:
Sorry if this post is scattered and all over the place/strangely shifty in mood and themes, I typed bits of it throughout the day… ;)
Love yʼall.
