Watched The Massacre this week! It was enjoyable, though we didn't see One enough for my tastes. I was mostly delighted by the atmosphere at first, reminded me a little of Reign of Terror—my, they did love France! Steven didn't exceedingly interest me, but Anne was quite sweet. ONE HAD A TOP HAT AT SOME POINT! And he was crafty and handed Steven some money, although it wasn't very neat for change, lol.
My favourite part was the ending—after Steven's departure, with One's monologue. He might have been talking to himself, but my interpretation is he was speaking to the TARDIS and I'll stand by it! :) Such a heart-breaking part—with mentionings of all the past companions, Susan first, then Vicki, Barbara and Ian. (Though he messed up Ian's name, AGAIN.) And at the end, Gallifrey and the idea of going home, but he couldn't do that. Oh, I ached for him so ♥
Didn't quite like Dodo's introduction though. *frowny face* I don't know. Didn't quite work for me. I'll see in her next episodes!
Also started OUAT at s3—the 40-minute recap part at the beginning was just ever so convenient. I quite enjoyed the episode—Gold was great and Regina had smashing lines, although she was a little infuriating sometimes, haha. I'm of two minds about Emma. Her character is the kind I would really enjoy, but I get the feeling the showrunners awfully want to make the viewers adore Emma, and they're laying it on a little too thick. Saviour!Emma… well, the whole appeal of the character to me is that she is flawed and used to taking care of herself and has trouble trusting, and she's tough, but has a lot of adjusting to do. They do show that, but… I don't like to feel she's being shoved down my throat—I'd much rather love her on my own terms…
Oh, and Pan was chilling. Hook was rather cool. Did I mention Gold? Gold is ace. Gold is badass. Gold wins :)

Date: 2013-10-06 03:40 pm (UTC)DUDE. You have nailed my problem with Emma on the head! I never really could quite point out what bugged me about her character - but that is definitely it! I adore her...I love her on her own merit. You do not need to MAKE me love her.
Gold is the BEST. HELL, YES!!
