The Name of the Doctor—beware of spoilers
Finale spoiler ahead, right in the next sentence. Read at your own risk.
"Returning for the finale are Vastra, Strax, Jenny, a "posthumous" Dr Simeon and a "post-library" River Song."
(Source here.)
Someone tell me to stop hyperventilating. Please. Seriously, someone tell me it's gonna be okay.
The whole rest of the article sounds great. It sounds thrilling. But this? I can't even. He CAN'T fix the Library…
(Eh. Rose's closure got screwed, still is. Donna's closure went close enough in the End of Time. The characters survived. But… still.)
Sorry about two freak-out fan posts in two days. But oh my. I just don't know anymore.

I'm calmer now, and actually managing to think a bit positively again/hope there is strong thinking behind this and it will make sense and be good Eleven/River moments, but to read it like that… it was shocking, to say the least. =P

It's sort of like... 'did I read that right?' *squint* Yes, it says 'post'.
Moffat might have planned this for years and years so it could be as solid as can be... Plus there was a River set pic! I love set pics!
Oh, and I've utterly left my no-spoiler-rule behind, apparently. XD

XD my thoughts exactly.
Moffat might have planned this for years and years so it could be as solid as can be...
Indeed… Like I was saying to dqbunny (how do you do the identify user thing in comments???), I'm not actually worried about how much Moffat thought it out—I was just terrified he was going to "save" her for real, after saving her in the database. In hindsight it seems pretty unlikely, but… I'm still scared for the tragic closure. Moffat just fixes things, brings dead people back, gives Amy back her family… *SPOILER AGAIN IF YOU JUST READ MY POST AND NOT THE FULL ARTICLE* Then again, we heard everyone wouldn't survive. Wow! One real death! XD *END SPOILER*
It might be great. But the uncertainty is distressing—I just wish this had transpired the week before the finale aired! XD
Plus there was a River set pic! I love set pics!
Me too! Though I saw some people speculating that it might be a River projection, from the look of her—and now, that would be good news for the whole Library business, BUT I'm worried that might mean less River screen time than I'd like =/
Seriously questioning the extent of my obsession for River Song and its influence over my life, since yesterday 6:15 PM. XDDDD
Oh, and I've utterly left my no-spoiler-rule behind, apparently. XD
Welcome to the club! (Though I never was kidding myself thinking I could resist River spoilers… XDDD)

I know! I seriously doubt he'd rewrite the Library ending. I'm basing that on... a hunch, but still. *g* (Oh, and it's < lj user=honeynoir >, without the spaces obvs.

No, no, it always hits when you can fret the most... ;)

She does kind of look... a bit stiff? And re: screen time, like has been said elsewhere, Moffat loves River. ;)

Welcome to the club!
Thankies!

Rationally thinking, I do agree. It's just a bit hard to be rational when you just CAN'T be SURE and oh god it MATTERS ;P

Great, thanks for the heads-up :D
No, no, it always hits when you can fret the most... ;)
Obviously. *groans*
And re: screen time, like has been said elsewhere, Moffat loves River. ;)
Thaaaaat he does. In AGMGTW though, her scenes were EXTREMELY good but the screen time wasn't big…
*pets*
*purrs* XD (I had to!)

In Moffat we believe. He won't jeopardise his pet character.

That's what I'm clinging to! ;) But he hates death so much, it makes me a bit wary. XD

Blue sky, white dress, huggly friends and kids! XD
So from his point of view, he has no reason to get her out... No?
Good point ;) So, guess she'll tell him just how happy she is there and that he should freaking stop the guilt trips already? ;)

Well, it really is. Moffat is a "father" and to him, probably, having his kids around is part of being, well, at peace. The other points are more common for the paradise trope. Well as close to paradise as he could anyway.
So, guess she'll tell him just how happy she is there and that he should freaking stop the guilt trips already?
Trouble is from our point of view how could she be happy there? She's River Song and no one keeps her locked-up (I may have a vid about it - TOO MANY FREAKING PROJECTS AT ONCE). I'd settle for an earnest talk between the two of them in the Library and he deletes her. No guilt trips anymore.

Quite right… But that's paradise in general, not her personal happiness. Ten might not know her yet, but Eleven DOES… All that time tweaking the screwdriver, and didn't he once wonder what he was condemning her to… I know, arguing to a converted.

Yes, yes a thousand times.
(I may have a vid about it - TOO MANY FREAKING PROJECTS AT ONCE)
YOU DO THAT. I don't think I've seen one of your vids before? And I want to!
I'd settle for an earnest talk between the two of them in the Library and he deletes her. No guilt trips anymore.
Yes please, Moffat. *pleading face*
Plus closure. Because let's face it, River won't be around forever… Possibly s8. As long as Moffat has really…

Movie buff here... I posted two vidlets on AO3 and have lots, LOTS of half-finished vids, rather heavy on the meta on my computer, that I dare not finish or post -I have no sense of rhythm, at all, and love a little too much Peter Greenaway's aesthetic.
Plus closure. Because let's face it, River won't be around forever… Possibly s8. As long as Moffat has really…
How I wish he would take the time to send her off, slowly, sparingly, lovingly, during series 8. One episode would be enough if well written and sustained with hints and references sprinkled in other episodes. But I doubt it -I hope, still, because no one loves River as much as Steven Moffat.

Agreeing with every word and wishing oh-so-ardently…

If Moffat was actually going to undo the Library, that would be the shocking end reveal we would never hear about. If he's giving it to DWM, it's trolling.
My guess is somehow this is going to enable the Doctor to come to some more peace about River's end by realizing that River was right to tell him not to rewrite their history.

*breathes* Yes. Good point.
Mofftroll strikes… XD
We'll see how it turns out… Thanks for the comment. Made me feel better ;)
