Classic!Who s5—Tomb of the Cybermen
*waves sleepily* Hello, hello. Well, I just spent most of my evening tucked between two pillows (the second one is a red, heart-shaped, super soft thing with an elephant pattern I'm currently cuddling to my stomach, which is naturally the most convenient thing to type—just in case anyone wanted to know, here you are), watching the end of that ep—at least the afternoon was productive. So review time it is.
First of all, the ep didn't have recons, which is quite enough to make me happy ♥ I really enjoyed Jamie, Victoria and the Doctor as the new team!TARDIS. Victoria's introduction to the TARDIS was quite nice, and I love Jamie asking the Doctor for a smooth take-off to avoid scaring her, and Two looking all offended, haha. Also, all the random Two/Jamie touching. ;) Jamie and Victoria's faces when the Doctor mentioned being 450 were just priceless. Love Two being his clever self, and the snarkiness from him, Jamie and Victoria. The latter was a bit silly at times, but also very cute and quite outspoken. I chuckled at her annoyance at being called "Vic". And I just LOVED the heartfelt discussion about family and grief between Victoria and the Doctor, her evoking her father, and his sharing about remembering his own family ♥♥♥ *hugs everything*
Victoria was some Victorian girl, though—self-conscious about short dresses one second, the next all self-assured and girl-power, saying "rubbish" at being told to stay behind. *eyeroll* Also the servant-ish guy who got brainwashed by the Cybermen and then died sacrifizing himself just had to be a black man, didn't he now. *sighs* 1967. Oh well.
It was nice to see the Cybermen again—STOP CLOSING THE EPISODES BY ASSURING EACH OTHER THEY WON'T BE COMING BACK! YOU'RE JINXING IT, FOOLS! At least Two is starting to get that. And the Cybermen said "We will survive" so much, there seriously needs to be a crackvid about that. The Cybermats made their first appearance, wheeee! Those things were cuter than they should have any right to be.
Those were highlights. I was a bit sleepy and parts of the plot probably/certainly went floating over my head, but it was nice overall ^_^
Good lines:
Two: "Oh, it's the Tardis. It's my home. At least, it has been for a considerable number of years." FEELS.
Guy (…shut up): "Look at him. Archaeologist written all over him."
Two: "Really? Does it show?"
Haha, I thought he pointed and laughed at them? :D
Victoria: "Well, if you are 450 years old, you need a great deal of sleep." Bless her little head.
Two: "You might almost say that they've had a complete metal breakdown."
Jamie: *groan*
Two: "I'm so sorry, Jamie."
