Hey! Well, I managed to balance Game of Thrones and classic!Who enough to get to the end of s4 ^_^ Yay for that! I AM OUT OF THE RECONS OF DOOM! Not that there won't be recons anymore, but they won't be the majority, just a ridiculous quarter of the season :D Pshhhh. What is a quarter.

Fun episode, though Dalek eps are not always my favourite; I enjoyed most of all parts 2 and 3, with the Victorian setting—Daleks in a Victorian house are hilarious. I laughed at the TARDIS being taken away by a lorry at the very beginning, and was intrigued by the trap visibly prepared for the Doctor. Waterfield was so visibly out of his time at first, it was quite nice to see. Because of parallels all the time, the idea of the human factor being inserted in Daleks and vice-versa strongly reminded me of Evolution of the Daleks (and the recurring theme of the Daleks' evolution and the human bits sometimes left within them, like with Rose's touch), that was quite a lot of fun. I found the modified Daleks adorable, with their play and calling the Doctor their friend, their names and their repeating "Why? Why? Why?" and "Dizzy Daleks". Bless their little metal selves.

Character-wise, I was thrilled by the switches of the dynamic between Jamie and the Doctor; at first they seemed to have such a wonderfully easy connection, which made it all the more striking when Jamie lost his shit and was furious at the Doctor for pulling strings and not being entirely honest with him, downright manipulative in fact and even more than he imagined. Jamie is the honest one and Two the clever, tricky one; I guess this problem had to come at one point, and Jamie's anger was so striking because he's usually so nice and so loyal. Loyal, but won't just lie back and take everything that's tossed at him. I enjoyed that; strong relationships have ups and downs, and at the very end Jamie really had to take a leap of faith and trust the Doctor entirely, taking a risk… Which was worth it. They'll likely come out of it all the stronger. *squishes them* As for Victoria, introductory episodes are often just a glimpse of what the character will be like once they're fully included in the team TARDIS and the adventures, so I'll wait and see what I think of her, but she's cute so far. Waterfield was beautiful in his desperation and I like that he died to save the Doctor, I was foreseeing something of the sort to justify Victoria leaving her father behind; Maxtible was quite the megalomaniac, fun to see, I was entertained by foreseeing his threatening to kill Waterfield at some point; as I mentioned, Molly the maid was delightful. Two gets very intense and passionate, especially when confronted to the Daleks or when they want to test Jamie. I love that.

Extra bits: the recorder returned. There were small Gallifrey mentions. ;)

Cool lines:

Jamie: "Me, foreign? You're the one that's foreign. I'm Scottish."
Two: "Tardis is a is a Gaelic word. Jamie, hush."

Two: "Boo." Just ungh. ♥♥♥

Dalek to Victoria bird-feeding: "You will not feed the flying pests outside." ROFL.

Two: "You behave as though we were going on a Sunday school outing."

Dalek: "Do not be afraid. You are not to be exterminated." That is reassuring shit, guys.

Dalek to Two: "You have travelled too much through time. You are more than human." Canon in progress ftw.

Two: "No, Mister Terrall, I am not a student of human nature. I am a professor of a far wider academy, of which human nature is merely a part. All forms of life interest me." And in comes the epic.

Victoria: "Don't worry, Kemel. I shall protect you. I shall see they do you no harm." This is where everyone cracks up in fondness, characters included.

Two: "I think we've seen the end of the Daleks forever." CAN YOU NOT. You really should know better than to say this by now :D
