Voice DW meme
So the lovely
eve11 and
a_phoenixdragon have been putting together a voice meme, which everyone should definitely check out =) The more the merrier! And I did it and went rambly. *laughs* Sorry for the occasional bad pronunciation, messing up of words and subsequent irritation, random moments and whatever might have gone wrong. I brilliantly declared David Tennant had played David Crouch Jr., new Harry Potter character right there, guys. *facepalm* The rest should be about all right ;)

The song named after my birth town is here =) Here are the rec links too: Living Legend (fic) and Message (vid).

Your accent was thick, but I caught nearly all but one or two words here and there. Your English is better than mine, lol!! And how much did I love the series of 'fuck!' when you thought you screwed it up (which you didn't, lovely quote is still lovely - and VERY powerful indeed)!!
Ohhhh, you are so massively awesome!! How did I not know JUST HOW AWESOME before?! And you pronounce 'Raxicoricofallipatorus' better than I ever could. So there, lol!!
Ohhh, I wanna squish you forever and ever!! Bless you, dear one!!
*HUGS YOU HARD*

Haha, good the accent was bearable—if thick! =P LOL, you silly person about the English. And yes, "Fuck" slipped off my tongue all too naturally ;)
*squishes you delightedly* ♥♥♥

And so do you!

She really does :D ♥

The fire imagery surrounding your user names was quite fascinating -Inkfire is a very pretty pen name, I've always thought. It's all very alchemy, and River! And Florence!
Oh dear, une francillienne de naissance... I'm going to be more careful when I lash out on Paris next time. Kidding aside, pig races! That sounds utterly terrifying, because pigs are quite fast and strong, aren't they?
I can sympathise with you not being sure you would like Who - I was SURE I would not. And watching for Tennant. *sighs* How many good shows or films I discovered because there was one actor I enjoyed in them.
And Eccleston had a mention! *waves flag* Donna... Oh Donna, dear. You are such a fantastic companion. Everyone seems to agree on that.
Please, get carried away about River and Eleven. Anytime.
And bwahaha, Living Legend, it's far more than smut, so nope, perfect choice. And you mentionned me, my vid, after the Masters KatrinDepp and ThePteryx! *twirls* Let me love you a lot.
Languages, that's definitely a hobby. I tried to teach myself Russian one summer; it wasn't that bad, but I lacked the regularity of classes to fix the knwoledge.
You are ace for doing this! I know how stressing it can be and you hold the stage for 17 minures. *cheers*

Heee, glad you like the pen names! I want to see you explain yours, too! God, I butchered it, didn't I? Can't believe I thought it sounded okay while pronouncing, lol ;) Those things you read all the time and never pronounce! I swear I wondered several times if I should say "Azzie" or "Adzie" to sound English! XD *facepalm*
Riverrrrr. And Florence. Of course. ;)
Haha, go ahead and say anything you like about Paris! ;) I never lived there, I was always in the 92 (though my parents were not exactly the posh kind, haha…) and I don't have many strong impressions/memories there anyway… ;)
Yes, I think they must be! I never really attended one of the races, most of the time I kept away and when I did try to catch one, I always ended up missing it, lol =P
Who is our pretty surprise, then… ;) Have you seen Broadchurch? I haven't, but my mother has and says it's absolutely fantastic.
Yes, Eccleston must have all the mentions! I love him :D And yesssss, Donna is always there. It thrilled me so much to realize that, too!
*twirls with you* Yesss. Your vids are lovely, and this one was especially great and on a personal level it was just WOW. Seeing what you'd done with the song… well, yes :D It was epic.
Oh, that's great! :D How far did you get and do you still remember what you've learned? Tell me something in Russian? :D The Japanese experiment was one summer too, but of course when classes started again I dropped it… and then I just lacked the time or motivation… sad. I really loved doing it, though it was lots of work with the memorizing.
Thanks! =) Funnily enough, it didn't feel stressful at all! I'm usually very iffy about things like Skype calls—the awkwardness of not finding what to talk about and all—but the recording was all right, I was doing it for you girls and it was lots of excitement/fondness. If it had been a video I would have been terribly self-conscious, probably, but the recording was really fun!

Good, because I'm really not a fan of the city; for living that is. Probably the country folk resentment. *waves hand*
O_O Catching pigs... How do you even? I was afraid of chickens for Grissom's sake!
I have watched Broadchurch; liked it 50/50. The cinematography and acting were gorgeous and some of the themes -mainly the small town mentality- were fascinating. But I didn't like the way they exploited some melodramatic threads instead of delving into the "crowd effect", the guilt and desire to stay anonymous for ex-criminals. I mean there were "shockers" you could see coming miles away and twists that were plain emotional manipulation. I personally HATE being emotionally manipulated by a show. And in every show, it happens once in a while -even with Who-, except for Broadchurch, the whole series was staged to provide the maximum hurt.
Eccleston... He is very much like a perfect Doctor to me -too bad I don't like his arc; he has the sharpness and the silliness that I think should characterize the Doctor, without Ten's arrogance or Eleven's childishness.
Thank yooou! I still adore the song to this day. Despite having heard it 500 times while making the vid.
Don't remember anything, beside reading the characters... Which I don't know how to recreate on the keyboard. Me, goldfish? Noooo.
Well, that's good for you! Happy experience, it would have been a shame to see it as a chore. ;)

Did you live in Strasbourg itself (meme knowledge, woohoo!) or really in the country? I like big cities, but country life is so pretty and peaceful; I go out for walks and swoon at the wildflowers everywhere and the gorgeous houses and gardens. Maybe I would find it harder to adjust than I would think if I moved back into a real city by now. No idea…
Goodness, I meant catching the race, with a camera. I would never catch a pig; I would never approach a pig… I get scared and edgy around little dogs when they move and bark too much and get into my legs for crying out loud! I completely understand chicken fear, haha. A wasp is enough to have me hyperventilating…
Ah, I see what you mean. Personally I don't really mind emotional manipulation, my mother is really into emotional effects as well—but you make good points… Doing things for the sake of stabbing the audience's hearts doesn't lead to going for the ambitious thing or complex insight. It depends on how subtly it is made. And yes, the crowd effect is a very interesting thing to explore…
Aw, you didn't much enjoy the Eccleston arc? I liked it quite a lot, it was less complex though—the plots felt relatively simple, less intricate, but with emotion running deep (Dalek, Father's Day…). What you said about Nine. And now that I see those traits written, I wonder if they will apply to Twelve as well; that seems to fit the little we've been told or can imagine. We will only see when s8 airs, but it would be fantastic :D
:D Glad you still love it so much!!! Songs that survive such binge consumption, that really is love ;)
I'm about the same, what stuck with me the most with Japanese is the characters—that's what took the most work and it was the required basis for EVERYTHING, so I guess it's normal? Well, I do know little stuff like neko for cat, aoi/akai that should be blue and red… Tidbits. XD
^_^
*hugs you tightly*

I still live in Strasbourg, quite near the centre. But as my city is only middle-sized, you are quickly in the fields, and 30min from the mountains by road. I lived in Paris for a short time and I really missed this proximity of the countryside.
*facepalms* If you ever wonder what kind of drug I am on... Sorry. I keep misunderstanding. Little dogs are the worst, so it's only natural. My Nona has a little dog that just won't let you approach her. It's ridiculous.
*grumbles about emotional manipulation* If you really want to go for it, please do. But make it stiffling then, make it unbreathable and punch-me-in-the-face. Make it Battlestar Galactica, or The Big C, or Grave of the Fireflies, or Festen. Scar your audience, that's the only way I'd take it.
I like complex arcs. It's a prerequisite for me to become addicted to a show. I found his arc enjoyable, but really not addictive. When he had such an interesting characterisation to work with. So I was a bit disappointed with his arc. In my defence, I saw it after the end of Ten's arc and Eleven's first half. I am practically sure Moffat trolled us and that we're in for a big surprise with Twelve.
µhugs*

Okay, I see—that’s really the best, being in-between, you get advantages from both. It’s harder when you’re completely cut off from the country.
Haha, that’s okay, I get ridiculous misunderstandings too :D Little dogs just seem to be the nastiest for some reason.
Haha, I can’t but agree with that. Bring me all the trauma! ;)
*nods* I get that. I did enjoy the simplicity and ingenuity of the episodes, but I agree that it wasn’t the kind of thing to have you hooked and at the edge of your seat—the appeal was different. And yes, the time of watching also counts—I was discussing this with a friend while I was watching and she advised me to go back for Nine right as I finished Ten, so I’d go through all of RTD before discovering Moffat, because else the change in tone and the way of handling the storylines would be too great and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy s1 anymore. She was probably right…
Yes, a surprise with Twelve sounds likely to me too. Things are just… too close to what we would easily imagine, falling into place too neatly. Twelve being older and fiercer, which completely fits the impression Capaldi gives, partly because of the Malcolm effect… It’s too simple! It feels like we’ll have the bliss of his acting but no surprise at all, which just doesn’t sound likely. So yes, trolling is very possible. After all, he had us believe there would be no old Doctors in the anniversary. :D
*hugsssss*

All hail our Troll Toffee Moffat. I am so sure Moffat is trolling us at the moment with the Rebel Time Lord thing, I could eat a hat.

That does sound pretty likely! Can't wait to find out obviously ;)

Yes to adorable!Eleven. I like how you see him through River's eyes.
Aha you haven't met Tereleptils yet! (They are in Fivey's run) But you pronounced it very well. And the way you said "Raxicoricofallipatorius" made me think it should be a Harry Potter spell word :D
Yes I know the question is horrible! But hey you can't go wrong with
That is a good quote too, though a bit of a tongue-twister. Ye gods if I had to pronounce French I would murder it. It would join Latin as a dead language for sure.
(btw because you asked, the pronounciations: "mith-ology" and "eye-cons")
Thank you so so much for recording! It's really fun to hear people's voices after just reading text for so long.
ETA: OMG as for not quite getting the Harry Potter character... have you seen Catherine Tate Trying to Guess David Tennant's HP Character Name?. OMG I think I just pulled something laughing so hard.
no subject
Nope, and it'll take me another two years to get there from the look of things right now :D Haha. And Raxacoricofallapatorius as a spell word… to bug the death out of Hogwarts students, perhaps :D
Yes, EleventyFest was amazing! I was just flabbergasted and delighted by the quality all around. Epic.
Thanks for the pronunciations! :D
I know!!! It was such a great feeling, all the excitement and I'm always bubbling with affection and happiness after hearing people. It's epic.
YES! I'd seen that video :D I have no excuse because I love the character, haha. And Catherine Tate is full of win. ♥♥♥
