*swoons happily* OMFG, thank you so much for the gorgeous feedback, lovely ♥♥♥ I'm so very happy the fic was enjoyable and believable to you, enough to actually enter your headcanon :D I really had fun with the characterizations—Mels so sharp and unrooted and hovering, and Clara so ethereal, with such peculiar softness about her, indeed… Her portrayal really just happened like that, there was something a bit unreal about it, even to me. Like a girl from another world. I loved reading all of your thoughts about her—it's all spot-on =) All the contradictions and yet it all merges into harmony somehow…
Hahaha, the overflow reference was actually not completely done on purpose—back when I wrote the first draft of this I still wasn't fully decided on my title, but "overflow" has always been a very beautiful and evocative word to me, I really love it, so no wonder I use it often! I do believe I also have a series of drabbles over on FF.net that is called The Overflow. And eeee, you finished the book! :D So glad to hear you liked it! ♥♥♥
So glad you found the idea of Mels/Clara so fitting ♥ I don't even clearly recall how it came to my mind in hindsight, tbh, but then it just went oddly smoothly… indeed, they just fit together, if just for a short shared moment. All the more beautiful.
