Heheeeee, thank you so much :D :D :D Really? :D That's funny, I liked the Bellatrix ones least. The pictures were dark, with her huge dark hair all over the place, I felt there was no way to make the image clear and striking. Funnily enough I ended up liking the second one better, but it's great to hear you like the first one too! Hahaha, I actually played at applying colour lipstick on that second one and the River one of the previous line (select the mouth and apply a slight pink light). I'm silly like that.
Yes, Donna was missing, eh ;P But two people gave me links for classic screencaps, so there should be classics in the next batch, which in turn will encourage me to pull out of the billion Eleven era caps I already have saved on my laptop and go pick some RTD era as well ;)
Ummm, well, quite honestly, I don't really know. It depends on the icon. They all get the same preparing treatment—crop, resize, adjusting the light and sometimes the clarity. Then some are done very fast, if I'm pleased right away with the look of them—your Zelena and Wicked Gold were super easy for instance: one or two gradients, then I tried adding a texture and in both cases I just fell in love with the result at first try. Then there are the cases when I can't find something I like right away, and will keep tweaking and trying different options, with more or less pulling my hair out ;) What makes it harder to figure out the time is, I don't make an icon in one go and then never touch it again. When I open Gimp, the first thing I do is browse through the current batch-in-progress from the beginning, just passing the things that look good and stopping when there is one I'm not 100% happy with to rework it a little, and only then do I move on to a new icon. So they basically all get either really reworked when the first try wasn't great, or tweaked a bit for details, more light, less light, stronger colours etc. Until it's posted it's always in progress! ;)
